Desk Shot 012 + Long Beach Comic-Con and Mystery Page

What's up, world?

Here's another shot of some of the cheap sketches-- These are actually all for one dude... and I'm not even sure he had the biggest order. I'm tearing through these as fast as I can-- Trying to get a giant stack penciled and inked so I can just paint them all up in one night and mail them out.

If you want to get on the (super long) list for some cheap sketches just fill out the form and click the button below or you can paypal $6.44 per sketch directly to tonyfleecs@hotmail.com (international buyers, just tack on another dollar per for shipping).

Speaking of sketches, If you're headed to the Long Beach Comic Con (This weekend, October 2-4) you can get one from me in person. I'll be in Artist Alley with my buddies and studio-mates Tone Rodriguez, Chris Moreno and Mark Dos Santos. I'll be sketching and selling all my books (Hester just threw some FireBreather trades in the mail for me) as well as selling a couple new prints which I'll post up here for your perusal in a couple of days. Also, me and the studio boys will have a sketchbook for sale (cover pictured right over there) which serves as an appetizer for the big color book we're putting together for the cons next year. If you're in the area (or can afford the flight), I hope to see you out there.

Finally, here's a new page I threw together for a secret pitch. It's in my completely opposite more realistic style-- I think it came out kind of cool.

Ok, I'll check in again later this week. Take care, everybody.

Desk Shot 011 + All Sorts of Other Stuff

Hey Folks!

Sorry it's been so long since I last checked in. I've been working like a nut since comic-con, trying to keep my ridiculous rent paid. Anyone waiting for commissions, sorry it's taking so long. I'm trying to find time to do them while keeping up with the finding and doing of my regular freelance work. Every body's getting their sketches, don't worry. It's just a matter of finding time to get them all done. Up above you'll see a bunch of the ones I'm working on right now. AND to the right, you'll see another awesome framed set. This one from my buddy Lance in Colorado.

Just for good measure (and since I haven't updated in so long), here's a bunch of other random work I've done lately. I promise to be back soon with more stuff to show.
As always, if you want to get a $6 commission of your own, just fill in the form below and click "pay now" or PayPal $6.44 x however many you want directly to tonyfleecs@hotmail.com to get on the (admittedly, very long) list.

Off to Comic-Con

Hey Folks!

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, I've been hustling. Trying to get my month squared away a week earlier than I usually get my month squared away.

I'm about to jump in my buddy's van and head down to San Diego Comic-con for the weekend. If I owe you an email or art or anything, I'll be back on Sunday night-- and as soon as I've slept, I'll do my best to get back to everybody.

If you're coming out to SDCC, look for me- I'll be moving around a lot but home base will probably be the Image Comics booth where you can get your copy of TYRESE GIBSON'S MAYHEM #1 SDCC Exclusive cover. Art & cover by Tone Rodriguez, cover inked & colored & designed by me.

Hope to see you there.

Gone Hollywood on y'all...

...or Pasadena, in this case.

My buddy Mark Dos Santos snapped this photo of a movie poster I did last month hanging up at the historic Laemmle's Playhouse 7 in Passadena. Movies are almost like relegion to me so this is about as close as I'll get to a Sistine Chapel gig. Pretty cool. The poster's for a short called BURDEN that'll be showing there as part of the ACTION ON FILM IFF on July 25th (the day after my birthday). You can check out the trailer for Burden right here.

ODDS + ENDS

Hey everybody!

Just a quick update to show you some of the stuff I've been working on lately. First up, here's a pinup I did for my buddy Tone Rodriguez. It should show up in the second issue of his book TYRESE GIBSON'S MAYHEM! from Image Comics.

If you're unaware of MAYHEM!, all you have to do is turn on the internet and you'll hear somebody talking about it. I've read the first issue and it's really fun. Tone's art is outstanding- It's gonna be a big deal. You can pre-order the first and second issues now at your local comic shop OR you can get the book at buymayhem.com. Also, if you're going to SDCC you can get the SDCC Exclusive 1st issue with a throwback cover, Pencils by Tone, cover inks colors and design by me.

Next up here's a couple pieces I did for my boys at House of Secrets (the awesome comic shop in Burbank, not the vertigo book). The first piece is from a short story-- Not sure yet where it'll show up in print but as soon as I know-- you'll know.

The second piece is for something else, too early to say anything else, really...

Finally, I got a shoutout at PRETTY CHICKY of all places. They ran a piece on a wedding invitation comic that I drew last year for my best pals Chris & Heidi Ryder (who celebrated their first anniversary last week).

Here's a little bit of what PRETTY CHICKY had to say:
Heidi’s husband, Chris, is a self-proclaimed comic book nerd. The couple wanted to be sure that every aspect of their wedding was a reflection of who they were. Heidi & Chris enlisted the help of Chris’ friend, Tony Fleecs, a comic book artist, to create these custom, personalized invitations. I’m a sucker for bright colors, and creativity anyways, but the artistry of these take them to a whole other level!
If you'd like a wedding comic of your own, shoot me an email at tonyfleecs@hotmail.com and I'll break your heart by telling you how much it costs. AND if you're looking for a photographer for your wedding, the star of this invitation/comic, Heidi Ryder is an amazing photographer herself. Check her stuff out here.

OK- I'm off to work, More $3/6 sketches and more new stuff should be up here soon.

Speaking of the $6 sketches, I'm keeping orders open for a little while longer, If you want to order one (or 50) for yourself all you gotta do is use the paypal button below OR paypal direct to tonyfleecs@hotmail.com $6.44 x however many sketches you want (International customers just tack on a dollar per sketch for S&H).

Peace out everybody!

$6 Sketches - Look who came crawling back...

Hey Folks,

Here's a bunch of new sketches. These will all hit the mail tomorrow. If you haven't seen your sketches yet, they're coming. I'm knocking these out as fast as I can while keeping up with the regular work. Hopefully I'll have another bunch to post this weekend.

If you haven't ordered sketches and you want to get on the list, as always you can use the paypal button at the bottom of this post or just paypal $6.44 x the number of sketches you want to tonyfleecs@hotmail.com (add a dollar per for UK, Can or Australian shipping).

To your right, another one of the sketches makes it's way to a loving home. Thanks to Brooks Williams for posting that up. Makes me feel good to see my cheapass doodles getting the classy frame treatment.

OK- Here's sketches:

My GEEK BOMBAST Podcast Appearance

As I mentioned earlier this morning (or last night, if you have a retarded sleep schedule like me), I'm on the GEEK BOMBAST podcast this week. I sat in for the whole show which is half news and reviews and half interview with me. I just listened to it and can vouch for it's charm.

Here's what they said about the episode over at the Geek Bombast page:
This week we talk about Batman & Robin #1, Werewolves On the Moon: Versus Vampires #1, The Big Book of Barry Ween, The Hangover, and Land of the Lost. We are also joined by special guest Tony Fleecs, who talks about his books In My Lifetime and Tell Them Johnny Wadd is Here. Tony also tells us about the time he was struck by lightning, so tune in for all the fascinating details!
You can download the episode (Episode 15) from iTunes, or listen to it right on their site right here.

Thanks again to Rod, Mike and John!

Sketch Update - The Last Supper & More

Hey everybody!

Not a lot to say right now, super tired. Just painted up a bunch of sketches and here's a look at some of them.

As always, if you want to order a sketch (or a pile of sketches) of your own, you can fill out the paypal form at the bottom of this post OR just paypal $6.44 x however many you want directly to tonyfleecs@hotmail.com

2 Other quick notes:
  • Geek bombast had me on their podcast this week. We recorded tonight, and (I reckon) it'll go up sometime this week. I'll let you all know when it does. Big thanks to Rod, John and Mike over there.
  • And my sister Kristen is now doing some T-shirt screenprinting, I'm doing the designs for the shirts and we're selling them over at FleecShirts.com. So far there's just one shirt but we've got a few more in the hopper.
Ok, here's the art:
